They say you get what you pay for, so I wasn't expecting too much, since this book was free. I was very pleasantly surprised! Great photos of dozens of stitches with clear instructions how to create them. It also has step by step instructions for casting on, purl stitch and knit stitch. You can enlarge the photos for a closer look.This book is for beginners, so advanced knitters won't find anything new here, but it's just what I need.
A variety of interesting & beautiful stitches are presented, with a photograph of each. For the beginner's ease, those instructions are written rather than charted. Also included are some basic knitting instructions with photographs for those who are new to this craft, and as a help to those who need to refresh their knowledge. This book makes an excellent reference to keep handy on my Kindle as I advance my knitting skills.
This is a great reference for novice knitters, who've progressed past garter and stockingette stitch, and want to make a scarf that takes a little more skill and looks a little fancier. The author gives clear directions, there's pictures (albeit black and white on a Kindle) and novices should be able to quickly estimate how difficult a pattern would be to add to their project. A nice reference for experienced knitters, too, as it's easy to flip through the pictures when you're thinking that you want to add a little texture to your project.
I have been very disappointed in the free or cheap knitting/ crochet books. The whole you get what you pay for. But I was very surprised by this book. Love the colored photos and the setup of the book. In some ways this book is nicer than the more expensive ones I have purchased. Very pleased with this book and will be checking to see what other books this author offers.
This has some really neat looking patterns that I used to make dish rag sets, and they look really cute! The pictures that go with the teaching of stitches made me a little confused, but possibly just because I have a hard time learning that way. But, coupled with videos, this was really cool!Bob says: 4 Stars
Knitting Info on my Kindle makes is so easy to create an item or make corrections. This is definitely something a beginning knitter should have to understand the basic stiches and go on to have fun using all the combinations shown. Even a simple scarf can become a real work of art by incorporating the fancy and even not so fancy stiches.
There are a lot of interesting stitches in this book to try, and I like the abbreviation glossary in the last few pages. I am happy I bought the kindle version of this so I can pull this out quickly whenever I need to look something up. Liked it a lot.
I haven't been knitting for long, but I really want noted this guide or reference for various stitches. Fun patterns and easy-to-follow directions make this a good valued buy.
