You can bookmark pages, find a passage very quickly by just a few taps and it has everything my full-sized hard-bound version has. I can't say enough about it -- love, love, love it!
This is the study Bible I’ve been looking for. Every page provides information that connects the scripture to everyday living and helps me understand the message and how to apply it in my life.
This is the best Bible you can buy. Because it is the NIV it is very easy to read and understand. Additionally, it has 1) a verse-by-verse commentary (notes) for every chapter, 2) a time line of world and Bible events, 3) an overview and 4) an outline of each book, 5) information about the purpose and 6) the author of the book, 7) when it was written, 8) for whom it was written and 9) why, as well as key 10) people and 11) verses, and 12) the setting and 13) places where the book takes place. 14) There are full-length profiles of key people in the Bible, 15) lots of maps both, full-color and black and white, many with explanations, and 16) some books have a page called, for example, "Key Places in Matthew," which gives an overview of the book and a large map showing locations of the events that occur in that book. 17) There are many indexes, one a concordance and another is an index to the notes. 18) It has over 23,000 cross references to provide in-dept reading about a verse. 19) There are many "charts" all of which are indexed. These are inserts within the chapters that have VERY interesting information related to the subject of the chapter or book. 20) The application aspect relates in the notes how verses apply to our daily lives. This version of the NIV Life Application Study Bible comes in soft, black leather and has tabs called indexes to help locate books. The pages are gilded in silver so it is a beautiful Bible. The one drawback is that the pages are tissue-paper thin. I bought this Bible as a gift for a friend and he loves it and shows it to all of his friends.
One of my New Year's resolutions was to read the bible more. But, when I started, I found that the language of the text and the missing historical context left me unmotivated to continue. This bible was a perfect solution. It gives background on the people and locations, as well as thoughtful translations and historical backstory. The NIV version doesn't change the text as much as the NLT version does, so you still feel like you're reading the bible as it was written and not a reader-friendly translation. My only issue is with the size of the subtext. It's TINY. I'm very glad I sprung for the slightly more expensive full-sized version and not the smaller "personal" sized one.
The Life Application Bible is great for studying and I love it! My issue is with the quality of physical product. I purchased this Bible in 2012 but now in 2018 the “leather like†cover material is shedding everywhere and even now starting to unstick from the book itself in some parts.I’ve treated this Bible well. It doesn’t leave my bedroom so it’s not an issue of poor care.I really don’t want to get a new Bible as this one is dear to me with personal notes and highlights. I’m so disappointed.
Love this book as a physical Study Bible, but this Kindle version is useless. It only gives you the navigation bar when you first open it. Once you select from the navigation bar, the bar disappears and you have to close and reopen the book to get the navigation bar again. More frustrating than useful.

Soft Leather, Colorful map, perfect Text size 9 (IMO) Gold coating on edge of pages makes it look really good. Easy to understand. GREAT BIBLE. I was so excited when I received my purchase and started using my Study Bible the next day. Disclaimer the font size is small, however it works for me. I would probably invest in a magnifying as I get older in order not to strain my eyes lol. I love this study bible it is lightweight, therefore I can take this it anywhere I go. The NIV text is easy to read which has been helpful to me as I grow in my faith. I would recommend this book for new and seasoned believers. The Life Application Study Bible also provides historical context and maps in each chapter which to me makes the Bible come to life.
Speedy delivery. Exactly like it was advertised. It's a perfect bible. Has red letters; when Jesus is talking. Pre tabs are wonderful. No messy misaligning with the "do it yourself" types. Binder is very nice and durable. Highly recommend.
