I just knew from the moment that I started reading this book that I was going to fall in love with it. I didn’t want to put it down, the book was that good. Ansel and Indy were wonderful characters that were drawn together. Neither knew what was causing this inexplicable attraction between them. Especially when Ansel, an artist, was painting pictures of Indy before he had ever seen her. Yet he had to paint her and not just one painting. Even after Ansel and Indy meet and she asks him why he painted her, he just didn’t know. Indy was confused by her reaction to the painting and her uncontrollable attraction to Ansel. I loved that they basically were friends instantly because of this feeling of already knowing each other. I really liked Ansel’s brother Bram and Indy’s sister Lily and how they both helped Ansel and Indy. This was a fabulous book and one you don’t want to miss out on reading.
The Girl in the Painting is hands down Max Monroe's best book! This book was so different than anything they've ever done. I was captivated from page one. I don't think I took a breath until the very last page. Ansel and Indy's story was beautiful, tragic, and a whole lot of magic!Ansel and Indy's connection was intense from the get go, but learning the reason why threw me for a loop. I was heartbroken for them! Ansel's passion for Indy was palpable. She became his muse before he even met her. Indy was living, but was merely going through the motions until she met Ansel. He made her really live again.I'm struggling to write this review, because I don't want to give anything away. The Girl in the Painting is so good that I want everyone to read it and get the full experience I had reading it. So I leave you with this, READ this amazingly unique book!
4.5*I adore Max Monroe's romcoms- I mean they brought us Thatch and Whorgie for Pete's sake, how could I not? But honestly, I really love the books where they've branched out from the laughs and given us something a little deeper, a little more serious, like the Stone Cold Fox trilogy, and now The Girl in the Painting. I think this book just might be my new favorite of theirs. I know Ansel is my new favorite MM bbf, sorry Thatch!The Girl in the Painting was such an enchanting story. It was one that I wanted to zip through- I wanted, needed, to know everything about these characters, and I wanted to know it now! But I made myself read it slowly so I could savor every bit of Ansel and Indy. Because these are two utterly endearing characters and their story really captured my heart.I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here, as this is one of those books that's best read without knowing a lot about it. It's such a compelling story, with some fun light-hearted moments mixed in to keep the feels from being overwhelming. Because you're definitely going to feel, and hopefully you'll experience that same pull towards Ansel and Indy that they feel towards each other. This book, their story, is one that just completely charmed me.
Wow. Just wow. Definitely NOT what I was expecting but this might be my favorite Max Monroe book to date. This is so different from anything they’ve written. The premise was so unique and daring. Some people will have a problem with a certain aspect but to me it was necessary to the story and frankly in the end it was a nonissue. Ansel and Indy were like magnets. They were going to come together no matter what. Their connection was like whoa. It was emotional and heart wrenching and such a fulfilling story. I loved it. Honestly, go into this book blind and just read it. You won’t be sorry.
Spoiler Alert................WOW 😮! I don’t know when I last read a book so emotionally moving in every way. Ansel and Indy had the biggest heart and the greatest struggles life can hand two perfectly beautiful people. Ansel was an artist, world renown painter until he lost he sight in a very tragic car accident. He was given the ability to see again with an eye transplant. Indy was a violinist until she lost her her fiancé to a motorcycle accident. She decided to never play again. You see where this is going? Well not even close because the pain and the heartbreak they both experience, can only truly lead to the beautiful love that brought them together. she becomes Ansel muse to paint a person he never met or seen before, becoming the girl in the painting......BEST BOOK THIS YEAR. LOVED ITâï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
I am blown away by The Girl in the Painting!! I don't even know how to put it into words just how A-MAZ-ING this book is. I really didn't know what to expect when I started but I wasn't expecting it to grab me by the heart and make me feel all of feels I felt.Ansel and Indy. They share a connection that they just can't explain. Until they can and it stems from a devastating time in their lives. Their love story is just plain beautiful and full of witty humor that Max Monroe is brilliant at.This is one of those that is going to stick with me for days. Like major book hangover!! This book, yea, it's a MUST read!!!
I love this book! I love the way it came together and the complexity of not only the hero and heroine but even the secondary characters. I was completely unprepared for the massive hit to my heart that came from this story but Ansel and Indy certainly hit me hard. I devoured this book so fast that I am ready to go back and truly absorb each word and now that I am ready for the hit, i will be able to appreciate the masterpiece of writing that Max Monroe has presented with this book.
This book *sigh*I have been waiting for weeks for this book. When it finally came out, I finished it in hours and then was obscenely sad that it was over (for real, why aren't there 3 more epilogues spanning years down the road??). I tried to find another book in my library to read next but none of them measured up. I don't often re-read books, but this one I want to read ten times over.Such a beautiful, touching love story. I love the characters so much, the story line made me laugh, cry, sigh, and swoon over and over. Definitely NEED more Indy and Ansel.
