This is an outstanding quick reference. This purchase is actually my second copy; I leave one at the office and found it useful enough that I bought a second copy for some analysis work I was doing at home. That's not to say I couldn't find everything online readily, I just like the lay out and format.Be aware by itself this is not a good intro book for SQL. But it's a great reference to keep with you while you're learning (at least I found it so as somebody who is not a DBA, but works with databases on a near-daily basis). And you can't go wrong for the cost
Good book.I had a terrible MS SQL class in college, and I am going through the hackerrank.com exercises, and so far, it's helped with every one.Pages 124 - > End and the index are high value, they explain all selects, and methods therein.

I'm not a SQL novice and teach a class at a college level however there are those rare commands that I don't use often and need a reference. This is literally in arms length at work for those exact times. In fact, so useful that this copy was purchased for home use.
For the past twenty years, I had been generating SQL queries using Access's query-by-example grid. Recently, I found myself needing to write the SQL directly, and this book lived up to its title. It's not an instruction manual. It's a short reference book, and an excellent one.
It's very handy, easy-to-use, and well-written. I have no complaints.
